Built-in DB25-hole parallel port standard.
Parallel port address = 378h; IRQ = 7.
The parallel port is multiplexed to the diskette drive controller for an optional external diskette/tape drive.
The System Setup program shows the status of the built-in parallel port. This setting is not user-changeable.
Normal
If NORMAL is displayed, the bidirectional parallel port operates as a standard PS/2-style port.
External Drive
This option is automatically selected by the computer if it detects an external diskette or tape drive connected to the parallel port. This option cannot be changed until the external drive is disconnected.
Speaker
The speaker (transducer) can be set in the System Setup program. Three settings are available: HIGH, LOW, and OFF (rebooting is not required).
Keyboard and Keypad
External Keyboard Port
Custom keyboard with an embedded numeric keypad. The built-in keyboard has 85 keys. The spacing of the QWERTY keys is 0.03 mm smaller than on a standard PS/2 keyboard, and the keys have a 0.3-mm key travel with tactile feedback.
Connector
PS/2-compatible 6-pin, mini-DIN keyboard/keypad connector for an optional external keyboard or keypad.
External Keyboard
If an external keyboard or keypad is installed, the notebook computer automatically recognizes it during POST. The system keyboard LEDs (<NUM LOCK>, <CAPS LOCK>, and <SCROLL LOCK>) mimic the external keyboard/keypad LEDs and vice versa.
The internal keyboard remains active when an external keyboard option is attached. The embedded keypad is automatically disabled when an external keypad or enhanced keyboard is attached.

<FN-key>
Allows <key> to function as a typewriter key. When released, it reverts to a keypad key.
<FN-SHIFT-key>
Allows <key> to function as an uppercase typewriter key. When released, it reverts to a keypad key.
<SHIFT-cursor key>
Allows <cursor key> to function as a cursor-control key. When released, it reverts to a number key.

Keyboard Special Key Combinations
<CTRL-ALT-ENTER>
Starts the System Setup program.
<CTRL-ALT-DEL> Restarts or "reboots" the system.
<CTRL-ALT-\> Toggles (switches in a flip-flop fashion) the system's
processing speed between 8 and 20 MHz. <CTRL-ALT-#>
(102-key keyboard).
<CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE> Toggles the LCD panel screen text between regular video
mode and reverse video mode.
<CTRL-ALT-F10> Toggles between 4 possible screen fonts: standard system
font, full screen font, bold full screen font, and mixed
full screen font (highlighted text is bold).
<CTRL-ALT-F12> Toggles the LCD panel screen text between normal contrast
and enhanced contrast.
<CTRL-ALT-F11> Toggles the video image between an external VGA monitor
and the built-in LCD panel.
Mouse
PS/2-compatible 6-pin, mini-DIN mouse connector. The mouse port uses IRQ 12.
